Compressor Clutch

I have a 2002 e320 4matic and I know the code 1419 is a faulty compressor clutch, could it be that the car is low on r134 and causing the clutch to refuse to engage. I am a new member and have already benefited from this site. Thanks for the help guys.

Yes low pressure will not allow the compressor to work, There is a pressure sensor in the system that actuates/sends the signal for the pump to turn on so better to have the system drained and vacuum and tested for leaks, if no leakes then recharge the system and take it from there.
