W126 300SD Only one side of the seat switch works.

Hi there, I'm having a problem with the passenger seat switch, only half of it works I know for a fact that all the motors in the seat work. The other day the whole switch worked but some one modified the the connectors by soldering them, I had some original wires so today I splice the wire and only half of the switch works. The reason why I spliced the wire is because; even though the switch worked the switch moved other parts of the seat so for example on the switch I moved the rear rest of the seat I would be moving the rear bottom of the seat, also the connectors weren't in the best shape. So I wanted to get in newer and not modified connectors and then worry about which switch movement would move which part of the seat. Now I'm faced with this problem. Do I have to solder the connectors like some one did before? Or is this another type of problem? I have cleaned out the switch it self but still nothing.
