New Mercedes Benz 300TD 1984 owner from Montana

I just purchased a 1984 300TD and need any advice and help.

I paid 1,600 for it and drove it home from Bozeman, MT to Missoula, MT.

The car was very slow but once it got up to speed, I had to floor it all the time, and when I hit Homestake pass outside of Butte, I had slow moving semis passing me and slow moving grandmothers...almost had people on pedal bikes passing me.

I was wondering what advice someone may have for me with this, thanks.

PS, I am fairly mechanical just very new to MB Diesel.

Banjo bolt plugged

Thanks for the advice and help. I found the banjo bolt and it was totally plugged. After cleaning it and the hose, still no change. I didnt read anywhere about cleaning out the valve on the fire wall and with all the soot and corrosion, i assumed that had to be affected. I took it off the fire wall and sprayed brake cleaner into it and saw alot of black stuff come out. i let it dry and put back in and the car, after hitting 20mph, took off.

l have taken the consol switches for the windows apart and found them corroded and carefully cleaned them.

The hazard switch is toast, looks like liquid got spilled on it and it fried. I assume that the hazard switch is integrated with the turn signals because they do not work.

I have changed the oil and filter., air filter, and spin on fuel filter.

The transmission is leaking fluid as is the rear end
