Exclamation Overfilled oil - now low power

Ive overfilled my ML320 automatic with oil and after draining almost 2 litres out the oil gage is now showing 2/3 full. The trouble is now the car struggles to gain power. It loses power when revving the engine at around 2500rmp and wont go over 30mph.
There is no oil spillage or leakage in the engine bay or any smoke coming from anywhere.
Is there something i can do like running the engine whilst parked to burn off any excess that may be hanging around as a result?

Many thanks

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and try again.

Some also say to hold the brake pedal down to drain the residual voltage from the condensers.
I wonder is those things are related Tony, so will like to hear back from you?
