HI. what are these ?

i got the v12 w140 limo and there will be a few questions like this... (as im used to my very simple Capri.. )

and , how do you 'disconnect them' safely? i take it they are sealed air type units?

i know one of the controls the self closing doors etc and the one under the seat is to do with the door locks in general and i can see pipes leading to the motor or something under the front seats.

Vacuum line distributor block. Should be able to simple (but carefully) pull the caps off but if the car has any age on it the lines could be brittle so be careful or you will be replacing the lines, or at least splicing in new ones.

Long time since I even looked at a W140 system but the small vacuum unit is the door assist and it should have:

HL = rear left
HR = rear right
VL = Front left
VR = Front right
HD = Trunk

The larger unit under the rear seat is for central locking.

ah ha ok. i will take out the small door assist one then. dont need that one. that big one leads to under the seats too doesnt it?
