I am considering buying one of these vehicles, the V220 seeming best as regards fuel consumption and interior.
My problem is the terrible reputation they seem to have, but the public do seem to have good things to say (sometimes) - so what is the real truth.
I have been put off buying before due to the bad reviews so would like personal experiences of the vehicle, V class in general and V220 in particular.
Main complaints seem to be - Noisy engine, excessive road noise and squeaks and crashes going over holes in the road. - true or false ??

Things that don't add up are the trade reviews and actual people's reviews. In the first they say large turning circle, in the latter easy to manouvre light steering. Also noisy and rattly, can't hear what the passenger says for the noise - and then, we loved it for long journeys for the family (presumably all screaming at each other to be heard above the rattly engine and road noise ?)
I appreciate that cars have problems and general maintenance doesn't worry me but changing engines / gearboxes is tricky and expensive. Also if they are really unreliable expensive to run noisy rattly vehicles do I want one.
Answer is yes I do want one if they are a decent vehicle. I currently have a ford (smiley) transit which is a little noisy (but I can hear passengers in the back) and which I think is a very good vehicle.
Only problem it averages 25mpg so not good for the future, also rust is getting the better of it, sadly as I will miss it. So I am looking for a more car like replacement that can carry the occasional large load if required.
Any thoughts from the real world as the trade negatives are almost unanimous.............
