Well, here's what I found:

cleaned up pretty nice

Gray market, originally sold at a dealership in Zurich. That made for some fun, figuring out what they did to convert it. Looks like they just slapped a cat on it, still has the original ECE electronics, headlight adjustment (I thought that dial was the panel dimmer at first), and the Euro seat adjustment handle makes a decent cup holder, too. Dogleg 5 speed took a bit of getting used to.

Lively little fellow. Quick, handles very tight, but still has that solid 'old benz' feel to it. Still needs new rear springs - someone took off the SLS shocks but didn't change the rear springs, so it squats in the back a bit. Old fuel residue had gummed up the CIS system pretty well, gave me fits until I finally put the fuel distributor in an ultrasonic cleaner along with parts solvent, that cleared it out nicely and saved me the $500-800 to get another one. Paid $1500 for it, put another $1500 into it replacing the front seats, one side skirt, and a few other odds and ends.
