Thinking about buying an E350

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a 2006/7/8 E350 and thought I should definitely run it by you guys.

I have owned a Mercedes E300 many years ago and just can't wait any longer.

The only two things that I know that I definitely want are 18" wheels and a navigation system.

Is there anything else that I should definitely consider? Like 4-Matic? (I live in South Carolina and don't think I need much help with ice or snow)

Also, will I be satisfied with the horsepower in the E350? I have seen people say the 550 is the way to go.

What do you say guys? Anything I should know? Any advice is very welcomed!

Try asking in the w211 forum. They should be able to tell you what to look for.

I get rid of low profile wheels because the comfort on California roads suffer too much on them.
W211 has the option of rear folding seats. Rare, but I use my cars for carrying the stuff and would love the option. Keyless is nice option as well. Navigation from those cars will be badly outdated, so I wouldn't worry about it. $90 Tomtom will give you much better service.
The 3.5 engine is rated about 250 hp from my memory. If that is not enough, maybe you should seek a Porsche?

If you can swing a little bit more $$ and get a 2009 (the last of the W211 model), the COMAND and navigation system is the much improved version which is in the latest (W212) E Class models. It has a hard drive system and real VC, Bluetooth, with a much better media interface (music register, plays DVD-Audio and video discs, etc..)

The 550 engine with 382 HP runs like a scalded dog; not as hot as an E63 but that is a different animal. I would test drive both the 350 and 550 before you decide.
