2000 S500 Benz decision dilemma!! Help will be appreciated!!

A 2000 S500 Benz is in market for sale. Here are the details along with car's history:

In Sep 1999 Manufactured
In 2000 arrived at dealership
In July 2000, bought and registered for Corporate use (Perhaps by a Major Bank for its High officials' use)
In 2006 June sold to an owner for personal use
In 2009 Sep, Stolen and recovered by Police
In 2009 Dec, sold to third owner for personal use (who is now selling and drives it very well)
In April 2011, Seller advertised for sale (I am planning to buy it)

During this entire history car regularly passed safety ann emmission tests whenever owner was changed. I assume that when Bank or corporate was owner, it must have been well maintained (between 2000 - 2006)

SITUATION TODAY:
Looks: awesome
Clean: awesome
Engine Oil Color: light yellowish type I mean it is not dark
Transmission" smooth and shifts very gently
Alignment: need a little adjustment because when you are driving on a Texas style straight Highway (I mean no curve) the steering remains a little tilt which shows a little need for alignment
Barke fluids, Transmission fluid: loaded
Navigation: doesn't work, music is great
Engine noise: no noise at all
shockers on passenger side seems little more compressed than driver side
According to seller it gives him a terrible mpg because he fills tank every monday morning, drives 30 miles a day and on friday tanks is empty so basically 150 miles in 21 gallon but this is less important for me because v8 will certainly give this kind of mpg
Seller is asking seven grand
based upon this description, what is the opinion?

Don't you already have like two threads about this car?

I think 7k is a little too expensive.

1984 Mercedes 190D 2.2 Auto - 140,628 miles

Most of us won't be able to comment until you fill out your profile using the User CP at the top of each page. Please add your location as prices are regional and vary greatly so this will help us determine if it's market-correct or not.

Annapolis MD is the location. The car's first corporate owner was located in CT (Perhpas UBS Bank). The car remained entirely on east coast between 2000-2011. Now if seller agrees on 6K, will this be a fantastic deal? Please advice

When I read that statement I can not take you seriously.

To my point, I can't offer advice because I'm west coast and prices are much different. Hopefully someone will chime in. Regarding the MPG, perhaps he meant 30-miles each way which would make much more sense? Otherwise it does seem implausible.

Fantastic deal?

Ever wonder why a $100K car would depreciate to $6K in this short time period?

IMHO when it comes to S-class, if you can't affford to own a new one you can't afford to own a used one either.

Unless you're a Mercedes mechanic, of course.
