Oil in the Water

I have a 1991 Mercedes 350SD. While on a trip this past weekend, suddenly steam started coming from under the hood. I watch my gauges constantly and operating temp stayed normal until the steam started coming out. I got off the road and the car died. The next morning, I was checking what I could and saw that I have oil in the water, but there doesn't appear to be water in the oil. I am suspecting the head gasket. Also, I can't even start the car now. Please help me. I have to try to fix this car myself. It was late night when this happened so I don't know if steam or smoke was coming out of the tailpipe, but there is oil spatter on the bumper and trunk.

Sounds like it's either the headgasket or you cracked the head.

Try asking in your cars designated forum for additional help.
