Hello, greetings from California

I currently drive a 1995 E320 cabrio. My MB ownership career started in 1994, when I bought (on a whim!) a 1964 220b. 4-speed manual, on the column. I loved that car! After moving to the UK, I owned: a 1984 280TE, this would be the 'family car', many memorable trips, including Disneyland Paris with the stomach flu the whole way home. For parts (mainly the third row seat), I bought a 1981 (I think) 200TE, it was very tired, but fun to drive with the manual gearbox. I then had the pleasure of G-Wagen ownership, 1984 280GE. Spectacular! Upon moving back to the USA, I bought my present E320 cabrio, which had been my 'dream car' for my last few years overseas. Owning my E320 is truly a privilege! I've never regretted buying any of my MBs, even the 200TE was enjoyable.

Nice, welcome aboard. Is your cab blue? I've seen one on 580 or 24 in the bay area.

You'll have to bring it to the next GTG.

No, it's that... gold color. It wasn't my first choice, but when I shopped for this car, I wanted an example that had had both the dreaded head-gasket work done, as well as the wire harness replaced. From a private party. Car lots make me queasy. So, I didn't have much choice of colors. I'll try to insert a photo...

Your color is 702 rauchsilber (smoke silver) and the lower panels are 7176 muschelgrau.

Same as my wagon

I think this color looks great on the 124 models.

I've now added: 1986 300E, 5 Speed (!!). Reckon I'm becoming a 124 collector! Mileage is unknown, odometer was broken. Sunroof is non-op. Very hard to get into 2nd gear when cold. Speedo reads 10-15 MPH too fast on the freeway (or so I believe). Funny vibration when idling (motor mount?). Replacing rear bushes improved the ride, but it's still a bit imprecise. Paint is tired, clearcoat flaking off. But really- I couldn't be happier.
