slipping timing chain help needed

I recently bought a 2006 c180 k estate with a blown motor .I purcased a used motor from a used spare dealer in cape town (104000 kms ). I fitted the motor and began to crank it to get oil pressure . It cranked fine but sounded like one cylinder was down on compression .It then stopped cranking and seemed seized .tried again same thing .I then turned it over by hand and heard a noise from the cam gear area . We removed the cam cover and noticed the timing chain was riding up and slipping a tooth when turning the engine(intake cam ).the engine looks good in side and the oil and filter where clean .My thinking is a stuck valve adding extra ressistance on the cam and therefor pushing the tensioner back alowing the chain to slacken and slip teeth .Can anyone help advise .Can anyone recomend a mechanic in cape town sa who could have a look .I really dont want to take the engine out again pease help reg Robin
