Post New from Kentucky-74 450SEL

I just bought a 1974 450 SEL which has had the engine changed out to run diesel and veggie oil!

I love my new family member!

But as with all older vehicles, she has some quirks.

However I'll get around to discussing those on other topic threads.

This is my second Benz. The other one, a 1975 240D, was destroyed last summer by someone who hit me while I was driving down the road minding my own business.

I loved that car too. It will always have a special place in my heart because it gave its life to protect mine and my daughter's. I loved the leaking windshield, the holes in the floor that were the only A/C, the mostly inoperable dash gauges and interior lighting. Those things didn't matter to me--just the quirks of an older vehicle.

Now I have a new one that I'll be getting to know and hopefully fix up a few of its little eccentricities.

I'm off now to the rest of the forum to discuss some things that are major and cannot wait!

Nice to meet you guys!
