Anyways. OP, I think everyone agrees that it wont do any physical harm to your car with it on all year.

These are electric and will not affect gas mileage at all. I drive 40 miles each way to and from work. I have done many trips with both AC on and OFF with no change in mileage. BMW is doesn't even have an OFF button, my wife's X5 runs auto temp from time key is turned on to when its turned off. All year long. I personally still prefer to turn radio and climate control off before turning engine off

I regard the my a/c system not simply as a temperature control system, but as a climate control system for all seasons. Set a temperature for the interior, and allow the system to add either cold/heat as required, and correct the humidity at the same time.

So it stays on at all times - unless I choose to drive with fresh air and the windows down.
