Talking C32 back on the road

Hi everybody, first post of many i would say, utilised this site quite a lot over the past year or so and i have to say you guys are doing a great job, great online resource.

So, i'm now onto my second merc, a '01 C32 V6 AMG Kompressor, my first being an '04 E220 CDI, absolutely loved that car for it's luxury, smooth ride and basically how enjoyable it was to drive, although it wasn't without its problems, mainly the common SBC fault and the endless electrical faults but i fell for the car and decided to keep it in the family, now the missus gets to enjoy it.

Now i have something with a bit more grunt but a lot more thirst haha its a project for me though as i plan to give the car a rehaul, plans to have a full respray done, already upgraded the braking system with new drilled and grooved discs and ebc redstuff pads all round, new discount tyres for now as i plan on new alloys and tyres.

I'm going for a black respray, white grille, white wing mirrors, white 19"-20" alloys and would love a white bonnet star but have searched high and low for this with no luck, as you can see, a lot in the pipe line so i will be leeching on your knowledge and picking your brains over the next few months while my vision takes shape.

Sorry for the lengthy intro and look forward to recieving your help

hey paul welcome to this great site, how does the c32 perform I am contemplating buying one for my lady, she wants and slk230, I beleive she will punish it due to lack of power and c32 may be a better option, also I have a coupe dont need two 2doors.

C32 Recommendation

Well, im what we call in my side of the globe a petrol head and have always drove 2.5l< the c32 reacts with just a touch the pedal and sends you back into seat, i always step away from my c32 with a smile ear to ear and feeling a sense of satisfaction, my sex-life has suffered haha but then so has my bank balance, the obvious downside for me being it is quite thirsty for the juice, now i'm running a petrol version which gets me on average city driving 12-14mpg which is why i'm having an LPG conversion done, that should take the sting out of the tail just a bit.

In your case its hard to recommend the c32 over the slk for the extra grunt alone, it doesn't have the glamour or sleekness of the slk so i guess the question you gotta ask yourself is does your lady like to get noticed or travelling so fast you couldn't, if it's the latter, go with the c32, it's an experience everytime or if it's the previous go with the slk, the girls do like the attention...

Not sure if that helps or confuses you more ... haha
