Brand new to the forums here but been restoring and driving classics for 30 years. It sounds better to say it that way than "as a teacher in the South the only thing I could afford was old cars with issues and don't trust Detroit Iron at all, as a result MG's, Alfas, Porsches, Fiats and one glorious 230C have been my rides.". As I got older, miracle of miracles, the workmanship got better and then finally became good. We retired last year and no longer need Wife's econobox/appliance/boat anchor/commuter slug neon and we have found a 1986 300E with a perfect body, but fuel delivery issues. We are here on this forum to help smooth the path to making this a reliable daily driver (while I keep my eyes open for a 230SL that I can afford). The 300E will be the newest car in the yard and will live next to an 86 4WD Cherokee that does farm work and pulls the horse trailer, and a 66 MGBGT that we use to terrorize the congregation at church on Sundays. We may be geezers, but we're still Hippies at heart.
