Japanese parts in Mercedes?

Any Japanese parts in Mercedes? Or in this day and age the question is how many Japanese parts are in Mercedes. I read today that the plant that manufactures half the mass air flow indicators in the world was damaged by the quake. Did not see Mercedes listed in cars affected. Any major parts that are affected on new or older Mercedes?

It's all about the supply chain and ISO certifications. Want to guess where those MB branded Becker and Alpine head units and changers were made or had components from? They weren't hand assembled by a "masterkraftwerker" wearing leiderhosen . . .

NGK sparkplugs in plenty of Mercedes these days.

Of course there wasn't an earthquake/tsunami in the Czech Republic ... .

W140 which is now an old car, ABS units made in the Phillipines and engine wiring harnesses made in Thailand, both failures. So is today any different and the answer is NO.
