Popped in to say hi

Hi guys and girls, new on here so thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Giles, sportyreptile is a name I've used on the web for years....can't remember where it came from now.

I'm from South Wales in UK and just bought a 96 W210 E36 AMG in azurite blue. It's not my first Mercedes (or do we say Benz?) I've previously owned a W124 E280 and a W140 S500, really loved some of the features on the 140 and perhaps I'll have a C140 coupe one day. All my Mercedes have been azurite blue .....must be my trademark

Really enjoying the E36 at the moment, getting to know the car and how it performs which is very quickly I'm finding out.

It needs a few jobs doing to get it up to standard, anti roll bar and bushes need replacing, front top ball joints, lower wishbone bushes, one of the rear ball joints and brake flexi pipes. It's also showing some signs of rust on the front lower edge of the front sub frame, not sure if this can be patch welded up or I need a new subframe, spotted it when I got the front underbody shield off, looks like water has got trapped between the shield and subframe and the dreaded rot has started to set in.

That's not to bad for a 15 year old car, it's got plenty of performance as drives very much with an old school Benz character on the old 4 speed auto, I like it a lot.
I'll try to attach a picture.....here goes.
