VIKTR it looks like your car has gone to hell and back. How does it run? Those AMG rims are very nice
lol, indeed it does
Here is the story as well as I know it.
Maybe 12 or so years ago my dad bought the e320 then invested a decent amount of money in it to make it look like the 97 e430 (even changed the chrome on the trunk to read e430).
A couple years after he bought it he moved to the beach and with him went the Benz. About 5 years later he had the car painted (first signs of rust removed etc.). For the next 4 or so years he used it as a daily driver but kept the car clean for the most part (didn't stop the clear coat from chipping though). At this point the car was still respectable, but his next move resulted in the demise of the poor thing.
For the last year the car has been at my grandparents house slowly rotting. Someone had ripped the spoiler from the trunk which led to rust (that chewed a few holes), the car acquired several dents from where I don't know, the window tinting started peeling and any other issue that arose with the car was left untouched (mostly electrical).
Eventually my grandparents decided they were bored abusing the Benz... err I mean, didn't want it anymore and the car landed in my hands at my favorite price.
I have fixed most of the electric issues (still need to buy some contact cleaner and a new bulb for one of the fog lamps)... removed the rust, repaired the dents. Fortunately for me the interior is still nice and clean
But to answer your question, the car runs like a champ and is the reason I intend to stick with Mercedes. I've never driven a car that handles this well.
...and thanks, I like the AMG's as well. When I finally get around to painting the car I'll feel comfortable taking some steel wool to the rims. I figure if I shine the rims now, the rest of the car may get jealous
