Post Works for us gals as well

I have noticed that I get more looks of either approval or disdain (from both genders) when I drive my Mercedes. But it is really different than any other car experience that I have had. Have you noticed that when you first get one you come up will all sorts of crazy reasons to drive somewhere? They are just so fun to drive! :

Went road test in a 221 this morning and stopped at the lights where 4 police were watching the traffic, they stood and stared in disbelief then one came across and asked me to pull over to the side of the road and I did. He asked me for the licence and I provided it and then for my drivers licence and I provided it and then for my passport and he checked my work visa. All this time there was a huge crowd gathering

I could see he still did not believe me but he was at a loss to do anything and I drove away with everyone watching me go. Bloody backward villagers. If this was Shanghai no one would even blink an eye. I am presently in Tianjin near the coast not too far from Beijing.

ERIC.

Man, this is getting better and better. The other day, I pull up to this traffic light and a car with two ladies pulled up next to me and said "awesome car. where are you going". I said, "to the car wash up the street". After I finished washing my car, I pulled into the area to wipe the excess water off, and the next thing I know, the car with the 2 ladies pull up right next to me and we had a very nice conversation for the next 20 minutes. I'm like "DANG"!!

I love my BENZ!!!!

Something similar happened to me once when I used to work construction

Except:

˚They didn't mention the car
˚The car was really a beat up work truck
˚They were in the Mercedes
˚There were 3 of them

Well, I guess it will be back to the looks I get driving a beat up 1997 nissan pickup again!!!

I decided to take my 2004 E320 to a local mechanic shop(that specializes in greman cars) for a simple transmission service. I get a call about an hour later and the owner tells me that I need to come and pick up my vehicle because a service would not do me any good. He then tells me that my transmission has a serious problem with it and that he thinks it is "failing". He tells me to take it to the dealership or another transmission shop to get it checked out.

I only had this car about 40 days!!! WTF!!!!!

The mecahnic told me that this problem was there way before the 40 days I owned the vehicle. However, according to the dealer's website. it said that the engine and transmission were in EXCELLENT condition. I even hired an inspector to do a pre-purchase inspection of the vehicle. he drove it and said that it ran great.

I do have a 3000mi/3month warranty, but it only covers $45/hr for labor!!!!

I usually get a lot of smiles and thumbs ups when I drive my Ponton around. My 10 year old son used to wonder why a lot of people look at the car with varying expressions until he was old enough to realize that the car was quite unusual and getting looks not because of the racket the diesel engine makes.

On highways, cars in the overtaking lane usually slow down to take a look alongside before speeding off. Some even take pictures. The car also never fails to attract attention when gassing up at any gas station and becomes a topic for discussion among strangers in the area.
