I leased a Mercedes Benz in June of last year. It's my second one. I didn't have any problems with the first one. This time Sirius Satellite radio's trial period was over and now they are sending me invoices, past due invoices and calling me "everyday", and I mean "everyday", sometimes twice in a day from their phone 866-301-7625. This started about 2 months ago. I was so annoyed 1. because I do not want to renew the service and 2. because I couldn't understand a word of what the person was saying, maybe they operate out of a foreign country or heavens knows where, instead of providing work to someone in America, where we need it.
I have just hanged up with them. It is Sunday March 13th, and they have called me on Sunday, transferred me to a supervisor. I explained I do not have the service. She insists that I activated the service, when I do not have the service in my car.
She told me, again in her broken English, that I "had" to pay the invoice. I must admit I lost my cool and hanged up on her.
I am tired of this, will send them a certified letter tomorrow, will not pay their invoices and if they want to collect, they will need to take me to court, and see what the judge will say, because I "will" be in court. This is a complete and total abuse.
How do you people expect to have repeat business when we, the customers, receive this kind of treatment? I am copying Merced Benz and my salesman to inform them of this and hope in the future they associate with professional companies\ like MB is.

sounds like a scam. i have never once had a problem talking to people at sirius. and have never got any call from them about my service. if they need to contact me with any billing or anything, they send a bill.

As a former debt collection supervisor, I can tell you that you do have rights. The first and most important thing for you to do at this point is to write them a letter demanding proof of the debt and requesting service dates and the serial number to the device that they claim was the receiver of service. This will take them a little time to process, but will help you tremendously in disputing the debt successfully. It is extremely important for you to send this request in writing and be sure to keep a signed and dated copy for yourself; I even suggest having your copy postmarked at your local post office. Keep notes of all of your communications with the company (in this case, Sirius), be it written or by phone in a notepad.

Best of luck to you & congrats on the second MB lease
