Hello everyone, I'm 19 years old here in New Jersey.

First car was a 190d 2.2l, got it in summer 2008. Unbelievably slow but enjoyable to drive. Has 292k miles now but has no mechanical problems, runs great.
I bought a 300td '87 in January, big step up from the 2.2, also runs great, about 191k miles. Put an intake and cut off the muffler, installed boost gauge and boost controller. Stock boost is about 13.5-14 psi, currently at 15psi.

Recently bought a 300sdl '87 as well (project car). It had a blown head gasket, so I took the head off and bought a new gasket. Also had the head resurfaced. about .013in shaved off. Started the car last week, no knocking and idles okay, but still getting a lot of exhaust smoke and seems to be overheating, coolant bubbling and a lot of smoke when I take off the oil cap. Not quite sure what to do about that but not looking good. It took a days worth of cranking to start, so the starter also blew but I have a spare.

I'm learning as I go pretty much from my dad and brother.

As a family we have 11 Mercs in the driveway, 4 across the street and 5 at our warehouse haha

I love Mercedes, preferably diesel, and enjoy working on them.

I've been running my 190d and 300td wagon on WVO since I got them. 100% in the spring/fall and summer, ~1 gallon diesel per tank in the winter. No conversion, bought 9 fuel filters for $54 and change them every 2-3k miles so its been great.

I know I'm gonna have questions if my sdl continues to have problems, also looking to upgrade to a bigger turbo on my wagon, possibly an hx35. Also looking to swap a 2.5 turbo engine(om602) I have laying around into my 190e 2.3 with a blow engine.
