Hello Tito:
Your English is very good. I would suggest that you add your City and Country to your Profile as well as a list of your cars.

How much is a liter of Diesel Fuel in your hometown now? How about Gasoline? If the price of fuel keeps going up we will all be riding Bicycles pretty soon ;-)

I'll be waiting to see the pictures of your cars..

regards,
Carl B.

Hi, I just put it in my profile. A liter of diesel cost 1,30 euros, and gasoline too aprox.
You have right, if the fuel keeps going up, soon we´ll all need a bicycle.

Regards.

$1.82 {1.30 Euros} x 3.78 {liters per gallon} = $6.88 per US gallon. YEIKS!!

Current averages here.
Diesel is $3.78 per gallon {0.72 euros per liter}
Gasoline is $3.43 {0.65 euros per liter}

Funny - when I was a kid, in the mid 1950's a gallon of gas was about $0.29 USD and a pack of Cigarettes was about $0.29. Today a gallon of gas in $3.78 and if you buy them by the carton a pack of cigarettes is about $3.78. The more things change the more they stay the same....

FWIW,
Carl B.

0'72 euros liter¡¡¡¡¡, incredible, this is the price that we had many years ago.
For now the limit speed has been reduced to 110km/h to save gas. Which is your limit speed in yours highways?.

Regards.

Hi Heaven:
Most of our Federal Interstate Freeways have Posted Speed Limits of 70 mph {113 km/h} outside of City Limits - and usually 65mph {105 km/h} within City Limits. Some of our Western States have a 75 mph {120 km/h } Speed Limit.

Back during the 1973 Oil Embargo - the US set a National Speed Limit of 55 mph {88.5 km/h} to "conserve gasoline". That limit stayed in place for several years after the "shortage" passed.

Then someone figured out that the 55 mph speed limit resulted in clogged highways, bumper to bumper stop and go traffic - all of which used more gas from slow cars, stopped and idling in traffic for hours - than it saved. So it was eliminated and the speed limits were put back to 70 mph. Another factor was the loss of personal productivity as people sat in traffic jams, spending twice as much time in their daily to/from work commutes.

Bottom line was that speed limits slower than 70 mph, didn't actually reduce fuel consumption. Of course since that time - we have developed far more fuel efficient automobiles and light duty trucks/SUV's as well.

FWIW,
Carl B.
