Is regular wiper speed an option??

Hi,

My aunt owns a 2004 E320 and while I was driving her car the other day while raining, I noticed the wiper doesn’t have a slow setting. The slowest setting would be the sensor one which detects the speed of the rain and adjusts the speed accordingly.

This setting would be great sometimes when it’s raining really hard, but sometimes you just want to have the slow setting and have the wiper wipe the windshield every for example 5 seconds but the sensor detects the smallest drops of rain and starts going faster which results in a squeaky noise which is caused by an almost dry windshield getting wiped.

Is there any way to bypass this automatic sensor option and just set the wipers somehow that it cleans the windshield every couple of seconds like in other cars?

Thank in advance for your reply

Posting in the E-class forum would get more answers since more people with your type of car are viewing it.
