38 pin to OBD2 adapter cable

I forget to ask if anyone have tried to use a 38 pin to OBD2 adapter cable with a OBD 2 scanner to erase the SRS code on a 1999 W210?
I want to know if this will do the trick and save to buy a carsoft 7.4

I do have access to a obd @ scanner.

Thanks

I doubt it would do anything for SRS. And are you expecting clearing codes to fix you issues anyway. Find a friend with Star and diagnose the issue (I would do it for free) and fix it, you save both the carsoft tool and the adapter.

^+1 Also the 38 pin connection cars worked with HHT software which is also incorporated into SDS so I doubt if any scanner other than SDS will do it.

That said there are some scanners around that can do 38 pin, I believe American special tools did one.

Thanks for the reply and the offer to do it for free. ( I think we are a little to far away.....), I do know anyone in the area that have the star
the SRS light came On when working on the steering column (Tighten a bolt) they is not issue to fix with the car. Is just the light is on.
Considering in buying a scanner, ( probably carsoft 7.4)
Not sure, (seems a bit complicated)...
