Just a thought... get a less energy hungry Computer?

I use a MacBook pro 13 and I get 7 hours use before recharge. Then a simple 12V computer charger which (I think) incorporates a 17.7 volt stepper ( ?? $$ ?? ) plugged into the cigar lighter will charge it in less than 3 hours. I use the one from Apple.

Simple may be better...

Big laptop batteries might sound simpler, but they are costly and have short lifespan.
Automotive battery costing about $80 will give you about 10 years of service.
I think Mac run longer on batteries because there is less junk that can affect them.
I am using my laptop in the whirlpool and when I used Internet Explorer, the battery would not last 1hr while the surfing would be slow because of all those spies IE absorbs. Than I switched to Firefox and the same battery would work 2.5 hr.
That was about a year ago. Now I notice Firefox is absorbing more and more junk as well. I am activating filters for pop-ups but it is uphill battle.

I can buy 1 Compaq Windows 7 laptop and 10 spare laptop batteries for the price of 1 Mac Book Pro; or 4-5 laptops.
