Heinz Geitz in La Jolla, CA has been around since the late 60's. But they aren't a dealer, rather an authorized MB service center.

From their web-site:
Don Rasmussen Company was established in 1950 with the Rasmussen Studebaker dealership on West Burnside in Portland, Oregon. As the popularity of Studebaker began to wane in the late 1950's, Don Rasmussen, Sr. demonstrated keen foresight and set a precedent in the American automotive world by establishing the first Mercedes-Benz dealership in the U.S. in 1957. Don Rasmussen Company continues to represent Mercedes-Benz today as Mercedes-Benz of Portland and Mercedes-Benz of Wilsonville.
This is specifically the kind of information I'm looking for....Mercedes-Benz dealers that were, originallly, Studebaker dealers. Studebaker was the official importer of Mercedes-Benz (after Max Hoffman) from 1957 until around 1965, when Daimler-Benz took control of the US arm. In 1966, Studebaker stopped selling cars of its own brands but many of the dealers who had been selling Mercedes-Benz cars continued on selling the German cars. Mercedes-Benz has since expanded its dealership network, but there are still a few former Studebaker dealers around.

If anyone knows of dealers with this kind of history in the Mid-Atlantic states or the west coast (aside from the aforementioned dealers), please keep the posts coming!
