I'm a new member. My old 1985 230ce ( W123 ) has a number of niggling problems at the moment that would probably be quite expensive to get sorted out professionally, which is why I thought joining this forum would be good.
I used to have a 230e of the same year but it was stolen. Here in the UK they get taken to order and broken down completely, packed into containers and shipped to Africa or the far east for parts apparently !
Anyway I've had trouble recently trying to locate a water leak into the well behind the rear wheel in the boot ( I've completely sealed the tail light unit and it's still coming in somehow ), and for some reason the ( time ) clock on the instrument cluster has suddenly stopped working.
If anyone has had any similar problems and has some usefull advice, or any bright ideas, I would be very grateful. One piece of advice I can offer is that if you have a W123 and live in the UK, get it armed with a good alarm/immobiliser or tracker and don't put your trust in a steering lock !
