I am an Ex=Flight Engineer, citizen of India, have worked
at Singapore,Bahrain,Kuwait and the United States.
Settled in India ,Coimbatore.
I have aMercedes Benz 200 D prchased in 1985 January from a dealer inW.Germany and imported to Kuwait and then again exported the same to my native counrty Inida, in 1995.
the car had given me wonderfull time with no problems , except changing tyres and routine maintenance, which I do do it myself with the help of Haynes manual.
Recently, I found the locking system does not work and after few days the car does not cut off when the switch is put OFF.
I got a Mityvac hand operated vacuum , and finally identified ,that the UNLOCK LINE from the front of the Engine to the coupling at the floor on the left seat, having leak.
Now can any of you please advise me how to rectify this problem. 1. Is it one single piece of tube or are there any connectors in between? 2. What is the procedure to change that tube. Laastly, what should be the max. vacuum from the engine vacuum pump when engine is operated at highRPM.
I shallbe very much obliged if any of you good friends canadvise me on this.
