Post Bean Counter Turned Benz Enthusiast

It's tax season, and I'm seeing more clients than any other time of year. Yesterday, one of my old favorites came in with his wife and mentioned he had a 1983 300D Turbo for sale. He asked $800, which I thought was a bit high... so I went to take a look. I rode out there today... the body is in great shape, but the paint needs attention. The interior needs some serious care - dash is cracked, passenger seat belt is broken, carpet needs to be replaced, bezels missing, seats need new hardware, etc. BUT... it runs. It cranks right up and hauls butt down the road. And ever since a friend of mine bought an '81 300 D, I've coveted it.

That said... I'm a Honda owner so all my resources are based upon that. I do have a factory-trained Mercedes mechanic straight from Germany who works at the local plant... is a client... and does work from his house. So that's a plus. What I'm wondering, though, is what y'all - the veterans here - would recommend as far as sources y'all trust for parts... everything from mechanical to accessories and interior. And I thank y'all enormously in advance. I can't wait to get started restoring this tank!

Edited to add: the final selling price is $400!! (insert happy accountant dance here)
