Post tyre pressure monitering

Hi I have a 2007 e320cdi with tyre pressure monitor which displays the actual pressures on the instrument cluster. Does anyone know if I put winter tyres on wheels without the monitering valves will it show a fault on the dash or just put on the same message as when you first start up i,e TYRE PRESSURE MONITERING ONLY AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINUTES Thanks

It will put a fault on the dash.

We all have Ford Explorer/Firestone to than for the fact that it's now $400 more to setup a set of spare wheels for winter tires.

Check with manual or Service Adviser.
There are several types of tire monitoring systems and having different principals they work differently.
I have never seen the factory system on MB in USA, but most common is the sensor attached on inner side of tire valve. Those will stay with the rim when you change the tire, but you better advise the tire person about their presence, or they might be easily damaged.
