Hello From Rhode Island USA

Hello,
My name is Seth, just purchased a 1981 Mercedes 300D W123. I have been looking for a 300D for about 4 months. I called over 200 local used car dealerships, looked at 4-5 craigslist cars in person and I finally found one that I liked for the right price in Uxbridge, MA. A man working for Karcraft of Uxbridge sold it to me. Picked it up for $2,000. Small rust spots on the rear fenders and a little at the bottom of the front doors.. nothing bad by any means at all. where it is rusted is still solid and the paint is still attached. Anyways.. Did not want to drive it back because we were chicken to drive it with plates that we took up with us.. So I paid to have it towed. Haahah the owner of the dealership said.. I will be dropping the car off at your address.. it may be any hour of the night or the next day because he does emergency towing for the state. So, I gave him my phone number, and I said.. Call me no matter what hour of the night it is. Sure enough, got a call at 1AM.. "we are on the way". Could not wait to see it. Finally arrived after giving some directions to the driver over the phone... wonderful interior only one small crack on the dash about two to three inches long.. everything else is mint condition. Took it to a recommended shop, replaced battery ground wire, replaced glow plugs, four new shocks, valve adjustment, valve cover gasket, replaced fuel filters, new ball joints, oil change, transmission fluid + filter change, starter, new air filter. went through few tanks of diesel with sea foam and some lucus upper cylinder lubricant and injector cleaner now using Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement +Cetane Boost for the winter for its anti-gel properties and lubrication. Odo started working on its own after the guy who sold it to me told me it stopped working. I think I only went about 1,000 miles while it was not working. I am still questioning if my mechanic noticed it was not working and hooked it back up again or fixed it. It has 193,000 on it now, and I plan on replacing the injectors with Monark Nozzles injectors from Mercedes Source. I would just get the nozzles and install and shim them myself but I do not have the money for a pop tester. I did buy the injector replacement kit from which comes with heat shield washers, return lines, wire brush, injector socket, instructions to replace them, gloves and even a package of hot chocolate. I am doing the injector change the first week of next month along with the oil pan gasket (not leaking just preventive). using Rotella T6 synthetic 5W-40
