Post C 320 Condenser Fan Problem

Can anyone shed some light on this please. I have a had my w203 C320 for several years and until recently never had any issues with the air con/climate control. A few months a hold the condenser unit deveoped a leak and had to be replaced which I had done by a local independent who have serviced the car since I've had it with no difficulty. Almost on the first trip out after changing the condenser, after driving a while I stopped for a short break and when restarting the car there was a loud bang and a spectacular shower of green refrigerant as the plug had blow out the top of the condenser.

Tha car has been back to garage serveral times and they initially changed the cooling fan but have now rulled that out as the problem, they also say it's not a valve problem or sensor and have confined it to electrical problem as the fan is just not coming on when it should, though it works when power is supplied separately - have checked fuse etc. Any thoughts gratefully received. Thanks, Steve.
