1983 300d TurboVeggie 2012 Proof
Over the summer I purchased my favorite car from a friend for $2000 after watching someone explain their veggie-powered Mercedes and haven't looked back.
Ive re-ran the vacuum lines (left out the power locks for now), hooked up a vacuum boost gauge for the turbo, added a wastegaste controller valve, blocked off the alda, disconnected the cruise control arms, bypassed the switch-over valve, turned the boost up to 13 psi, tried to recharge the A/C (ha), and hooked up a new head unit with a sub box in the trunk. I've ripped off the trim and bondoed it after finding a lot of rust under those black rubber trim pieces in anticipation of a paint job this week.
Over the summer I ran the car off of 100% vegetable oil filtered through a home water filtration unit which was pushed through a pump which i got from harbor fright that connected to the cars battery. Had to clean a few fuel filters and replace the cartidge inside the water filtration canister a few times but all in all no problems and ran great!
ahh, winter. Just finished building an oil refinery for WVO which has a heating element and a centrifuge.. blah blah... I'll put up pictures if anyone responds to this. I had a lawyer draw up paperwork for getting restaraunts to sign up for under me. If anyone wants to copy the paperwork to stick their own name / business in there and protect yourself i will be happy to post this too. I will be happy to post plans and pictures for the oil refinery if anyone is interested.
I plan on getting an expeller press shortly off ebay and making friends with a few farmers.... bartering is great. Oh yeah, last thing, a diesel generator that is going to be running off veggie oil too...
