Question new member

new member from Conway,SC, bought a 1994 e320 and already have run into the dreaded head gasket problem ( I think) any way I will pore over site for help etc and see where it goes. The car had been sitting for quite awhile and I drove it half way home from Fla.-stayed in a motel and about 5 miles down road next morning had smoke coming out from rear. Stopped and saw oil running from under eng and now it's figure out what to do from here. Car is in fair shape and was going to be "project car" but now not sure, have had figures from 1200 and 1600-1800 for headgasket if that is the prob. One guy said if it is just the front gasket it would be about 800 but he recommends if you go that far you should do head gasket too. Any help or thoughts in that area are welcome...by the way I'm Tom if it matters....thanks
