2000 MLK 320 chevy small black engine swap
Hello Benzworld! This is my first post so i hope it goes swimmingly....
If you read the topic and said, what the H?, I do not blame you. I have a 2000 ML 320 sitting in my garage that I would like to get up and running again. The last diagnosis given on the vehicle was that it was miss firing on 4 cylinders. Since then my mom has gotten a new car and it has been sitting for about 3-4 years...besides the engine, there are some other things wrong but very fixable(alignment, new tires, etc.) Currently, it does not run and in order for it to be really looked at the thing would need to be flat bedded to my mechanic. Coils were replaced along with spark plugs so what the problem is I could not say... some ideas were simply the fuel pump or the engine is just done. In four years there was 200,000 miles put on engine. So being the person I am, creativity set in and I've been pondering the idea of dropping a chevy 350 small block into the German machine. My brother, being a mechanic, gave me about a million reasons why it's not a very good idea. I just want to know if anyone can give me a firm answer as to the possibility of the idea. Yes it will need to be rewired, some new motor mounts, what ha. But, is there anything else that would need to be done?
