Introduction.

Hello,
My name is Brian. My Mercedes motoring started with a 1999 C230K, a marvellous, satisfying car that I called a "hooligans car. I could outbrake and out-accelerate most cars if I felt like it, or I could waft along in hushed silence (which was most of the time). This car reached 100,000 miles and I bought a W203 C200K which did nothing the previous car did. I have progressed through a C350 coupe (a blindingly fast engine) to a 2005 C320CDI estate. I have not got on with any of these later cars, largely due to the ridiculously light and unnervingly vague steering. I decided that I would sell the C320CDI and change to a different make of car, and booked it in for a final service at the main dealers. At the dealers, I asked them to check it had the latest software installed during the service. When the car car came back, it was a totally different drive. It had lost much of the vague and light steering, turned into corners confidently, even the brakes being full of feel.
I realized that the uprated software, would have been written in response to complaints from people like me, who have sold perfectly good cars, because they could not get on with them. Since the new software has pointed me in the right direction, that it could be a great car, I have decided to learn more and joined this forum, to do so.
