new introduction and question s430

Hello: My name is Elizabeth, I bought a 2000 S430 a year and half ago. Today my care gage on the rpms would go up at all. I stopped to try to check the transmission oil, but the cap said visit shop? Unless its some where else? CAn you please let me know.

I read some where on the internet, that the car only does that when its 32 degrees outside? Is that true? It is cold here in Salem Oregon, but its been colder other days and it has never done that. It putters some times, but I did oil change, fuel filter. The only thing I haven't done is the transmission filter change.

I am worried the transmission is going out? I almost forgot to add. When I was at a stop light, I turned the care off and turned it back on again. and the care drove fine for a little while, enough for me to get home. Dose this mean its a sensor?

Please let me know, and you can email me reyesel@hotmail.com

This is called limp mode and it happens when there is an engine or transmission problem. You will need to have the fault codes read out using DAS diagnostic equipment. Try a local indie or specialist workshop to have the codes read.
