Hi Thanks for reading. My name is Ben Hellmoldt.
As a Mercedes Benz Enthusiast I feel a little like this is like standing up in front of a AA meeting and saying, "Hi, my name is.... and I am a Benz Enthusiast". After all... who in their right mind owns 20-30 year old Benzs... let alone THREE of them! OMG
Anyway, the 92 500SEL is a daily driver in excellent shape. I bought it from a couple she lived in China and had a vacation home in California. It was stored in a garage for about 15 years, and had only 27K miles when I bought it. It is a beautiful car, and I love driving this beautiful car. My wife was leasing a 2008 R350, and turned it in a few months ago. I drove the car for a couple years (long commute) and my wife has been driving it since the R was turned in. No intentions of selling... unless someone came up with a ridiculous offer, of course (on the high side, not the low side.)
I also have a 1983 300SD. I bought this one on eBay without really knowing anything about the car. A bit of a risk but with 101K miels at the time, I figured it was a good buy. Since I bought the car, I have been working on restoring it. Just got the car back from Eurotec a a Mercedes Benz Cetified Collision and Restoration facility in San Carlos California. A friend of mine (a Master Technician at a the Mercedes-Benz dealer we work for) took all the stainless steel, and aluminum trim, as well as the body side molding off... and had all of the painted parts.... well... painted. The car is coming together, but I need some Brazil Interior parts... you know, dash center console and stuff. I will be actively look and posting where appropriate.
1988 300CE with 69K miles. This car came to my attention, and I could not resist. I will be posting this one in the Classifieds section because I really bought it on a whim (See paragraph one about the AA meeting - MB Enthusiast parallel) and need to sell the car to help pay for my 300SD restoration.
I actually am a Mercedes-Benz Master Certified sales associate at a Mercedes-Benz USA franchised dealer. So... I guess you could say Mercedes is my life!
