newbie Rod here. Mog trip Gemany to Hong Kong in 60 days
Not a Mog owner yet but working out the details on a nice 1300l ambulance. The quality and quantity of vehicles seems really high at the moment.
Mog in question is an '87 with fast axles and om366a turbo engine, that aside it seems like a text book standard machine.
All going well, next may will be in germany to collect, service and begin my adventure. The exact path is not yet planned but it looks like this at the moment: germany, poland, ukraine, russia, kazakhstan, china, hong kong, philipines.
I estimate that this will be a 15,000km trip and i am hoping 250km is an attainable daily rate of progress. This trip is not so much about the destinations as it about the journey to collect something i have always wanted and the fun/challange of bringing her home.
There will not be an internal refit for this trip so the ambulance box and a swag will be sleeping quarters when suitable motel is not available.
To the Mog people, what is the obvious spare parts list for a Mog on a journey like this? I will not be undertaking any really rought stuff, trying to keep the 1st trip as straight forward as possible.
The owner implies that he gets 800km out of the 160l tank, is that about right?
What sort of price would you expect to pay for a 16/24 speed transmission and what would the 8 speed sell for?
