260E Oil Pan Success

Hello all,
Took six hours but I finally got the damaged oil pan out and the new one into my 1988 Mercedes 260E. eHow.com actually had fairly useful directions on how to do this at home without an engine lift. How to Replace the Oil Pan on a Mercedes 190e | eHow.com
The directions are for a 190E which actually has the same pan and the same procedure for this task. I got the pan at a pick apart for $21 and the gasket from autohausAZ for $15. Not bad for a job I was quote $1000 for.

Cheers,
