Foam Filters

I was wondering if anyone has a foam filter in their car. I have looked all over the Forum, and all I have found is discussion on K&N. I am concluding K&Ns are good for flow but bad for protection. Plus there sounds like the possibility of MAF sensor issues. I currently have K&Ns in my 06 C230 but am considering taking them out and replacing them with OEM filters (sucks because they are not cheap). However, before I do I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with foam filters.

Also, any recommendation on where you can buy OEM parts online.

Do you like them? Are they hard to clean? Any issues with CEL or MAF sensors?

I understand the feeling. I don't like the paper one either, so I got some K&N but after doing some research (after the fact) it seems K&Ns are not all they are cracked up to be. From my research it sounds like foam has the best filtration of them all, so maybe I will try them. Thanks for you input.

I spent a while doing research, various video demos and reading, changed my mind back and forth and went for the foam...Why?....Not 100% sure, seemed better filtration than K+N, also figured they will be easier to clean, plus when you look in to the actual structure of the foam it just seemed better...I may be wrong.
