I blame cupholders, especially since I never use them.
They take up way too much precious console real estate!

For laughs, check out the '58 Edsel with transmission push buttons
right in the steering-wheel hub. Imagine thinking you're about to blow your horn..

I don't mind the column trans selector switch so much...but what I don't like is the way the newer model S goes into PARK automatically when the driver's door is opened. The other day I had to spit out some nasty mucus and whipped the door open as I was approaching a stop sign...nearly threw me into the windshield as the car went into PARK..very unexpected. I could do well without that feature!

Apparently a new environment friendly feature telling you it's wrong to spit out nasty mucus on streets and sidewalks. In the future you'll be able to eliminate an injury if you carry some sort of "spit" receptacle with you. Good luck!

Three on the tree reminds me old beat-up Chevy pickups. I have a hard time associating that term with a MB. I'm an old timer and I do change with the times, but some terms need to be left where we found them.
