Remove electronic from smart key

Hi,

I am considering to remove the electronic from old style smart key and order a new style chrome one from ebay. I found this picture, it shows electronic inside key which I need to remove..

Is there some tutorial how to do it ?

No tutorial needed in my opinion. Just insert a knife or similar tool between the housing and the white part and pull the circuit board out.

But the circuit board does not fit to a new chrome housing and the metal key too is different.

Will I damage the plastic or brake something in if I push the knife in, so it can be returned if it doesnt work in new key ?

I read that some guy did it on another forum.

My problem is that the small plastic switch which holds the metal key is broken, so it cant hold the metal key in, and I cant put smart key on key-chain. And it is silly to give 250Eur for new key just because I need plastic case, so I want to try with copies on ebay.

Im also wondering if someone tried to replace the case before ?

Someond did talk about it, but it involved grinding the board. Why not find an old style case?

I went to regular key store, and they had the plastic case for black key. They sell this 60eur. When I asked for chrome key, they said that they have the chrome case, but it is not possible to put the electronic board from old key to chrome one, but soon they will get the chrome case which will fit in electronic board from old key

Does anyone know if this case is available anywhere ? (ebay, amazon etc ?)

I ordered smart key and got smart key from ebay, it seems that AMS chip on PCB from chrome key is smaller than the one on old key. Now I am looking for solution for this too.
