Anyone know what the problem is here?

Aah... thanks. I did a search for 'recall' and didn't find that post.

Interesting about the possible loss of power steering fluid. It must be the only fluid without a level alarm that has a safely angle...

Ain't that the truth! Maybe it's a sudden loss? I'm sure MBZ will handle it accordingly. In a month it will be old news. People are already forgetting about the Toyotas right?

I have not seen details but even a sudden loss of power steering fluid would not be a safety issue, in Europe. It would just make the steering harder to turn and even that mainly when parking the car (on cars with speed dependent power steering).

This recall applies for Europe too. I'm not sure if it is still voluntary from MB in Europe but I don't think they leave it "for the next service".
