I am the proud owner of a 1987 190d 2.5. She runs, drives, shifts, and sounds great. (of coarse I did break the exhaust off at the turn-pipe after the cat, and got a generic "high performance" muffler) She's a little beat up here and there, but she is one reliable little mistress. The starter went out about 2 months ago, and it took 5 hours to replace (had to disconnect the inner tie rod and the center link, driver's side) but it runs great now.
I recently discovered the emergency "stop" fuel shut off. How cool is that? Has anyone run that to an accessible switch outside the body like professional race cars?
The interior is mostly good but needs a little work (door panels are pulled out of the dew strip, cracks in the dash) and i'm hoping to find new ones, maybe from a junkyard? If anyone knows of a good MB graveyard near Ypsilanti, MI, USA, i would be great full to hear about it.
I've been considering body modifications of some sort, but for now she's all factory (needs a new paint job BADLY)
anyway, thanks for the site's existence and all the help i'm sure i will receive as a member there of.
