I went to a dealership to have them check out my "missing" cornering light. At first glance at the computer, the technician said the car has conering light cos it has the 619 code, but went I got back to pick up my car, he told me its a mislabel. He said all new C classes with the fog light replaced by LED lighting don't have cornering lighting. The LED lighting is bright enough to provide wide angle illumination. I guess it make sense.

I guess it makes sense that this car does not have cornering illumination when it does not have traditional fog-lights. This would have to mean that the main light unit does not have a specific cornering illumination bulb.

It does not make sense to claim that the LEDs have a wide light pattern, after all the LEDs are either turned off or operated at very low power at dark when the cornering lights get activated.

I did not check but it sounds like the 204 does not have the same arrangement as the 212. The 212 with LED DRLs does not use fogs for cornering lights because it does not have specific fog lights but it has specific cornering light bulbs at the main light unit. Meaning the car has the cornering light feature even if it has LED DRLs.

The pre-facelift 221 also has specific cornering light bulbs even if it could use fogs too (it looks too odd for an S-class to activate one fog at a time, the cornering lights from the main light unit can hardly be noticed from outside, except from the extended lights coverage.

Diesel Benz just mentioned something that I forgot to say. That's the technician also said up until now, he has not seen any 2011 C Class that has the "specific cornering light bulb". The bulb can be found at the top front corner of the light unit.

Damn, this cornering light thing really annoys me. I got my 2011 C300 in for GPS problem. They lend me a 2011 GLK. This car has LEDs, instead of the fog lights. At night, when I turned on the turning signals and turned the wheels, an extra light beam turned on and illuminated the corner.

I checked my 2011 C-Class brochure again, cornering light is a "standard" for my car. Then, on MB Canada website, again cornering light is a "standard" for 2011 C300.

Now, I am really confused. A technician told me my car doesn't have cornering light, even showed me there's a "missing" light bulb for it. But MB website, brochure, and my salesperson all tell I'm supposed to find the cornering lights on my car.

Can someone freaking save me from the craziness. I need a definitive answer please.

Post ML350 (2009) Cornering Lights

I also can't seem to get my cornering lights to work...
ML 350
VIN: 4JGBB86E69A484344

Any ideas?
I had read there is something in the internal control system only the dealer can switch on/off...so was thinking perhaps this was turned off for some reason.

Or...maybe it's something else?
