Many thanks

The W210S wagon has a lot of fans too. Feel free to ask the owners on our forum, you'll find us in the sedans section.

The W123 of course - the last maintainable Mercedes wagon. I suppose I would really have a custom-body 114 wagon but I'm not gonna find that...

Currently: 1967 250 SL, 1963 220Sb, 1965 300SE Lang, 1971 280SE parts car, 1972 Alfa GTV, 1965 Alfa Duetto, 1993 BMW R100R
Past: 1971 250 C, 1985 300 TD, 1967 250 S, 1968 280 S,1981 300 D, 1982 280CE, 3 Facel Vegas, Borgward Isabella Coupe, Alfa 2600 Sprint, Volvo P1900 (yes), numerous less interesting Volvos, ...

W211 or W210 E320cdi wagon preferably 4-Matic.
Good acceleration, 7 belts, humongous cargo space, comfort and 40 mpg

I used to own a 1985 300TD (station wagon diesel)
It was a GREAT car. I'd still be driving it, if it was not totaled in an accident.
Take the car to a good Mercedes mechanic before you buy it. You need to know what has to be done to the car because it cannot be in "perfect" condition. If it needs some repairs, it's OK, but you need to know there are no major problems.
If the seller doesn't want you to take the car to YOUR mechanic, you do not want this car.

Another vote for the 2011 E350 4Matic. (W212)

With Mercedes, newer is always better.

It's simply rationalization and nothing more that votes in favor of the old, fuel guzzling clunkers.

W210 and W211 are still fairly modern, too.

It's a w126 combi - or 560 TEL. Basically the same as an SEL sedan.
Very few were made.

One example was fetching 49,000 euros on a German auction site.
