Smashbox... where are you located? It really helps to add that info to your profile. I'm in the US. We don't get the E series that others get, such as the E200, E250, etc. I guess that the works thinks that the Yanks only want the high power, gas guzzlers! Or, if that is all they offer, they will get more dollars..... Whatever. Anyway, yes, have your battery tested. Also, don't run your car with the battery disconnected! The alternator is only designed to charge the battery, not to run the car alone. It could be damaged and, you could upset the programming for a bunch of systems. Even if the car ran with the battery disconnected, there could still be an alternator problem. There are diodes in the alternator that can fail. If one fails, the car will still run but the alternator will not keep up with charging. Most auto parts stores will test all of these systems, including battery, for free.
