brake fluid question

do you need to use mercedes benz brake fluid in a ML320 or can you use regular dot 3 or dot 5?

I never consider saving $5 on brake fluid worth the risk on $5000 brake system, but would gladly hear your experience?

Why would you want to use DOT 3 or DOT 5? Doesn't the manual call for DOT 4? Just use what the manual calls for. You can't go wrong with that, or ATE Super Blue Fluid.

It really wasn't the cost, It was the round trip ride that's a pain in the ass. but I'm on my way now so it don't matter anymore.
